Sumter, SC - Last Friday, Thompson Construction Group, Inc. was awarded the Palmetto Star, a 2022 Safety Achievement Award from the South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing, and Regulation (LLR). This annual award recognizes SC companies’ efforts to reduce recordable occupational injuries and illnesses during the past year.
To achieve this award SC employers must meet at least one of the following criteria for the private sector: (1) no recordable injuries or illnesses during calendar year 2021; (2) a reduction of at least 40% in the employer’s incidence rate between 2020 and 2021; (3) a difference of at least 75% in the employer’s 2021 incidence rate and the 2020 SC average rate for that industry; or (4) worked one million or more safe work hours without a lost-time injury or illness.
